Walked in to the basement and saw the top of half of the foundation removed.

Like exposed earth or wooden retention wall? Either is no bueno.

That's how they screw you. Always charging for twice the foundation you actually need.

Saw 2 apartments in the last 3 months where there’s an elevator operator. You have to wait to get taken up to your apartment. Fuck that. And we’ve seen multiple apartment where the co-op board won’t approve installation of a stackable washer/dryer. 16 months into the search, and we are no closer.

In my experience, missing even a tiny part of your foundation is a big problem:
Missing half seems really bad...

Come visit me on Miami Beach, and I’ll show you some apartments that I don’t even know how people can rent them to another person. The Art Deco ones from the 20s-40s are in good shape, but the ones from the 50-70s are horrible.

Im actually confused though. It’s not like the house was floating over the bottom half of the foundation. Unless it was. Then you've truly buried the lede and figure out this antigravity house.

That is a whole lotta no bueno.

There were beams that were sitting on random blocks and planks on top of what was left of the foundation and a couple of pieces of 4x4 acting as columns also sitting on blocks of wood but on the floor

I'd have preferred the antigravity house. Yikes.

Seen that before here in TN. House with a basement that the owner had dug a crawlspace under the house and above the basement. Like a human sized mole tunnel from one end of the house the other.
